What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Working with people with shared interests. Liasing with customers and finding companies in the UK with interesting products and services. It’s surprising how many smaller owned companies out there support the UK and their local area.

Who has inspired you most in your career?

My mother who always strived to do her best in every situation and worked through some very difficult years after the war. She taught me always to be honest with others and yourself. Now it is my children who sought their own careers and goals (one a chef, the other a photographer) and have reached very professional levels.

If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

I’d be a carousel.

If you had your time again, what would you do different?

I would not change my life now, but if I had to choose I would have travelled around the world like Michael Palin in my twenties.

What’s your favourite pastime?

Listening to new music artists, audio books, nature walks and growing plants from seeds.

Do you play a sport, follow a sport or support a team?

I love watching ice skating, it such a beautiful sport, extreme hard work and commitment.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened in your career?

Taking the wrong junction off a motorway after giving a friend a lift to hospital and turning up 2 hours late for a meeting.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Not a talent as such but I’m very good at listening to people and trying to help them through life.

Who would be your favourite party guest?

James Corden.

What is the greatest luxury in your life?

Freedom to say no if something is not right.

If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Have a house on the coast growing lemon trees and olives. I’d gift to charities to help others less fortunate.

Who or what makes you laugh?

Laughter is the best medicine. People with a good sense of humour are great companions.

Anything on TV from The IT Crowd, black books to modern day Things we do in the Shadows, Norsemen, children animations film Hotel Transyvania, Pets United.

What’s your dream holiday?

Around the world on famous train routes.

What’s your favourite music album?

My music is diverse, not one album, at the moment I like Billie Eilish, Jorja Smith, Ariana Grande, Angelina Jordan. For relaxation classical and soft jazz.

What’s your favourite movie or Netflix series?

Pulp Fiction.

What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Do your homework and plan in advance. Always sleep on a decision. Enjoy talking to people. If you still feel a passion for your job after 20 years you are in the right place.
