Wouter Satijn, Sales Director at Joloda Hydraroll speaks to Warehouse & Logistics News.

What are your best-known products/solutions/services?

Joloda Hydraroll has been operating for more than 60 years, so we now have a very extensive portfolio of loading solutions, from manual to automated and everything in between. The most well-known of these is probably the Joloda Skate and Track System. This is the product from where it all began – and it’s still widely used today. The company was founded in 1962 in a small garage in Britain, where the Skate and Track System was first developed to solve the army’s challenge of loading heavy equipment and supplies. Today, we are a global business, and our solutions help thousands of companies handle and transport various types of freight more efficiently, safely and cost-effectively.

What are your most recent products and innovations?

Engineering remains at the heart of everything we do, and we are constantly looking for ways to innovate, whether that’s by upgrading one of our existing solutions or launching a new one. In doing so, we want to make things easier for companies by offering a one-stop-shop service for all their loading and unloading needs. Most recently, we expanded our offering with the launch of Joloda Air Cargo Equipment. As of 2024, this means Joloda Hydraroll now designs, manufactures, installs, and services a complete range of trailer, warehouse, and conveyor solutions for air cargo handling operations, both airside and landside.

What’s the latest news from your company?

At LogiMAT 2025, we will be launching a new addition to our range of unmodified trailer loading solutions called the LoadMatic Lite. LoadMatic Lite is a versatile, entry-level automated truck loading system, ideal for manufacturers and distribution centres looking to increase their daily load volume beyond what’s achievable with manual forklift operations. These businesses often deliver loads directly to warehouses or shops where forklifts are used for manual unloading. It is specifically designed to help meet higher throughput demands by improving the speed and efficiency of the loading process within manufacturing plants or main distribution centres.

Capable of loading standard, non-modified trucks and trailers with up to 26 pallets in just six minutes, the LoadMatic Lite enhances efficiency, reduces labour costs, and improves safety. The system requires minimal dock modifications and integrates seamlessly into existing dock environments. It supports a wide range of pallet types and complex load patterns. Pallets are staged at the rear or side of the dock using forklifts, electric pallet stackers, or AGVs, queued, and then loaded row-by-row with precision.

LoadMatic Lite offers businesses a low-commitment, scalable solution that reduces loading time, and improves accuracy and consistency, while helping businesses prepare for future automation. It’s a smart investment for growing companies looking to stay competitive in today’s fast-paced logistics landscape.

What’s your strategy for succeeding in the current climate?

We are committed to helping more companies around the world address their unique loading and unloading challenges. We aim to achieve this by growing our business and expanding our product portfolio through strategic partnerships, product development, and an enhanced global distribution network. Currently, we operate in 35 countries, and we aim to increase that number to 50 within the next three years. We also have several more products already in development that we will be bringing to market in the coming months. These innovations will enable us to help businesses handle freight, pallets, air cargo and parcels more efficiently in other areas of the supply chain.

Are you taking part in any major trade shows? Can you tell us what you’ll be exhibiting there?

Next up, we have LogiMAT 2025. We’ll be presenting our latest automated, semi-automated, and manual systems there – including our brand-new LoadMatic Lite. You can find us in Hall 5, Stand 5D09. Our team will be on hand if you would like to chat through ways to streamline your loading and unloading processes. We’ll also have scale models, installation videos and handouts, including your roadmap to automated loading and unloading success.
