Having implemented the specialised racking safety system from Rack Collapse Prevention in three of their warehouses already, Johnsons 1871 has now expanded its use to include their Liverpool warehouse.
Johnsons, a comprehensive partner for moving, project management, and installations, cater to individual, corporate, domestic, and global requirements, are members of the British Association of Removers, and host a British Safety Council-certified training centre. They hold eleven service accreditations, significantly surpassing the standard two found in the industry, positioning them among the elite top three percent of accredited firms.
This was Rack Collapse Prevention’s fourth installation for Johnsons, previous installations have involved pallet numbers of between 300 to 1,000 with averaging heights of 8 to 10m, and although this was a small project covering some 80 frames, it was again completed during normal work working hours, and in just one day.
Johnsons QHSE Director, Stuart Williams stated: “We believe in de-risking our business as much as we can. This includes primarily doing everything we can to protect our workforce.
“However, with racking collapse protection installed in all of our warehouses we know we are also protecting our and our client’s operations by not losing any business continuity and ultimately any damage a racking collapse would cause to our brand.”
Unlike many other safety systems on the market that reinforce from the bottom Rack Collapse Prevention’s safety system supports from the top, ensuring racking structures stay upright in a collision event.
Using cables suspended from the building’s steel super structure, the system never impacts structure integrity, and any compromised rack-load is never transferred. If a building’s structure isn’t suitable, then a separate steel structure can be installed to act as the support instead and has been proved in major incidents to operate within roof structure load limits, of warehouses built well within the last 15+ years, eliminating risk of rack collapse, worker injury, and product loss.
Craig Attwell, Managing Director of Rack Collapse Prevention, expressed his pleasure: “It was a joy to continue our partnership with Johnstons 1871 by expanding our racking safety system into their Haydock ambient storage facility.
“This new installation reflects their recognition and dedication to maintaining a safety standard that extends across all of their storage facilities, ensuring the safety of their staff and providing exceptional storage services to their customers.”
Providing safer working environments for warehouse professionals, Rack Collapse Prevention’s safety system is installed in ambient, chilled, and frozen warehouses and storage facilities across the UK, Europe, Ireland, and internationally, and is suitable for earthquake-prone regions.
