First of all, Chris can you talk us through the different products and services Avanti Gas Ltd provides?
Our main product is propane or LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), used in over 2000 different applications and across many different sectors. LPG is an ideal energy source for warehouses and factories. Used to fuel fork-lift trucks, off-grid space heating, and in process applications in manufacturing. With our large network of 15 regional supply points across the UK we have nationwide availability for our energy products in both bulk and bottles.
We work with our customers to establish a fuel plan that is tailored to their business, and with a wide range of products, services and pricing options we can always meet their needs. Our in-house engineering and design teams will work with customers to design a bespoke fuelling system, and installation and commissioning is carried out by our in-house teams, along with all relevant health and safety checks.
Our automatic ordering system means that our customers can focus on the day-to-day running of their business, and not worry about their fuel and energy needs.

What business sectors are your customers in? Which industry sectors are growing fastest for you?
As LPG is such a versatile energy source, our customers are spread across many different industries. However, Logistics and Warehousing is a growing industry for us, with more and more businesses converting to LPG Powered fleets. With lower C02 and soot emissions than their diesel counterparts, LPG trucks can move easily and efficiently between indoor and outdoor environments. They also require less maintenance due to the cleaner properties of LPG. We’ve developed the Complete LPG Forklift Solution to meet the needs of businesses using an LPG Powered Fleet.
Which of your core products and solutions are you presenting on your stand at IMHX? Are you launching anything new at the show?
Our focus at IMHX will be our Complete LPG Forklift Truck Solution. Ideal for businesses looking to upgrade their fleet to LPG, or those looking for a supplier who understands their business needs, our Solution could enable them to reduce their carbon footprint, increase production levels, and manage growing pressures to reduce costs. We can provide a reliable and cost effective fuel supply that allows you to operate your fleet efficiently and safely while addressing modern business challenges.
Why should busy professionals from the warehouse and logistics industry take time out to visit your stand at IMHX?
We serve a wide range of businesses, from large multi-site logistics companies, to family run businesses all using LPG to fuel their fleet. Common factors affect all of them – cost-efficiency, carbon reduction, and safety. Whilst the awareness of LPG’s advantages over other fuels has grown, there’s less understanding of the additional operational and safety benefits that LPG can bring. This is why we have developed our Complete Forklift LPG Solution. We will be able to demonstrate this to visitors at IMHX and work with them to bring these advantages to their business.
What do you see as the main benefits to your company from being involved with IMHX?
IMHX is an excellent opportunity for us to speak directly to our customers and find out more about the challenges they face in the day-to-day running of their business, and also to look at wider industry trends and innovations. With stricter carbon emission laws coming into effect, and in post-Brexit UK, we want to make sure our customers have a reliable fuel supply for their business.
The last IMHX was 2016. How has your business changed since then?
We’re always looking at ways to improve our customer experience. We’ve expanded our reach through some key acquisitions, and we’re always investing in our people, who continue to go above and beyond in their roles. We are committed to transitioning the LPG industry to 100% bio-LPG by 2040, offering carbon reductions of up to 95% from conventional LPG. Our bio-LPG is certificated and approved by an independent third party, so you will be able to evidence how much carbon you have saved by switching to bio-propane.
Can you tell us about your major customer contract wins in the last three years? Do these represent new development areas for your company?
Davies Turner, one of the largest UK-based supply chain management, warehousing, and freight logistics operates, chose AvantiGas to manage their Forklift truck fuel solution. We fitted two one-tonne skid unit vessels with a further two one-tonne storage vessels attached, which services a fleet of 14 fork-lift trucks, using around 35 tonnes of LPG annually. This allows for minimal downtime of their fleet, and trucks can be refuelled and ready to be put back to use in minutes.
Which other countries do you operate in besides the UK? Which overseas markets are most important for you?
As part of UGI international, which delivers over 1 billion gallons of LPG annually across 17 European countries, we have a wealth of expertise internationally across the business. AvantiGas’ focus is the UK market. We share knowledge and capabilities across the group to ensure our customers have the best possible experience and a safe, reliable supply of LPG.
It’s three years to the next IMHX. Where do you see your company going in that time?
We will continue to invest in our employees, delivery vehicles, and depots up and down the country, enabling us to provide customer service which is strong and resilient to change, which every employee can be proud of. On top of this we are committed to transitioning the LPG industry to 100% bio-LPG by 2040.
