What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
The sheer dynamics of a changeable and fluid working environment, one that’s totally different every day – from different clients to different tasks, both strategic and tactical.
If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
A forklift truck.
What brought you to this industry?
Parceline offered me a better company car!
If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?
I’d have started my own business earlier.
What’s your favourite pastime?
Hanging out with family and friends.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?
I wrote-off a brand new Porsche that my wife had hired for my birthday within 10 minutes of driving it!
Do you have any hidden talents?
Absolutely no talent whatsoever.
Who would be your favourite party guest?
Stephen Fry.
What is the greatest luxury in your life?
Sunday morning papers.
If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
I’d take an immediate holiday somewhere exotic and very expensive, let it sink in, and then after a few days realise that I wanted to continue working in order not to go completely mad.
Who or what makes you laugh?
I love sarcasm in its truest form.
Do you have any secret ambitions?
To be a world authority on a specialist type of art form.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Turkey.
What’s your favourite music album?
Undiscovered by James Morrison.
What’s your favourite movies?
Lord of the Rings.
What’s your favourite book?
Anything from Clive Cussler – sheer escapism!
Who or what do you detest the most?
Ambiguity.
What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Logistics is the most dynamic and challenging industry you can work in – as long as you can deal with the 7 to 7+ days!
