c061204-rey.jpgOptrak Distribution Software Limited (www.optrak.co.uk), leading supplier of vehicle routing and scheduling software, today announced that it had successfully completed its 20th year. Latest accounts show annual revenue growth of over 13%, driven by new customer acquisitions and strong repeat business. The software’s flexibility allows complex distribution operations to be accurately modelled, thus enabling customers to achieve a rapid and sustainable return on investment.

Founded in 1988, Optrak was responsible for launching the world’s first windows based routing and scheduling system. An innovative track record saw Optrak implement a unique system that combines a business intelligence dashboard with routing software and fleet tracking to provide an integrated real-time transport management solution. Optrak has also established customised versions of the software that cater to the needs of particular industries including Lubricants and Fuel Oil, Food & Drink, Waste, Newspaper, Security and Home Delivery. This ensures that customers benefit from functionality that has been designed to address industry specific issues such as product mixing rules,
complex loading/unloading requirements, etc.

Optrak is an award winning vehicle routing system and the implementation at Menzies Distribution was recognised with the Fleet Systems Management award.  David Morton, Strategic Director, Menzies Distribution said, “Menzies has been a customer of Optrak for over a decade and the relationship has worked extremely well with Optrak providing both software for our in-house use and consultancy for special projects. The Optrak routing software remains a sophisticated product and the consultancy services have been of a high standard, underpinned by Optrak’s deep knowledge of the newspaper industry. I congratulate them on reaching a significant milestone in their history.

Another satisfied customer, Andrew Reynolds, General Manager, Reynolds Logistics added, “Optrak’s routing software plays a key role in our automated supply chain. Its unique functionality for the fuel and lubricants industry continues to ensure that we can operate an efficient distribution service for our customers. The software provides a number of key benefits such as minimising our distribution costs and carbon emissions and I look forward to working with Optrak for many more years to come.

Tim Pigden, managing Director of Optrak stated, “We have provided high quality vehicle routing software and consultancy services for two decades.  Our success is down to the talented team that write, develop, implement and support our software. The road transport industry is facing its toughest challenge for decades but there continues to be strong demand for transport solutions that can make a real difference in terms of reducing fuel and operational costs, meeting customer service standards and hitting environmental targets.”
