What time do you get to work, and how long do you work each day?

If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
A Barcode scanner or PDA as I would be the most useful tool in the warehouse. I would be pretty much unbreakable as well as vital to the business. I would also keep my job for at least 3 years before my useful life expired.

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?
Probably not worry so much about things, like exams and the future. I would maybe get more trades under my belt so I was not just a general manager. I would also like to have understood how money and finances work earlier in life.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?
I would have to say that I was green in a presentation with a major hangover, and had to rush off stage during a major presentation to over 50 Russian bankers. They clapped thinking I had finished and was exiting in true British style.

What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Try and bring some value to the industry, new ideas and better ways of doing things. Understand consumer requirements as this will open your mind up to how the job you are entering impacts the consumer experience.

Who or what makes you laugh?
Good comedy, Monty Python. Wind ups are also good fun as long as they are in good spirit and not pushed too far. Business should be fun and and if you smile whilst at work, others will behave positively towards you.
