Welcome to the May 1st issue of Warehouse & Logistics News. Kite Packaging has expanded its chilled packaging range as demand shifts away from one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead of a single insulated format, the line-up now covers a range of materials and applications, with the changes reflecting a broader market trend in which chilled packaging is treated less as a uniform product and more as a set of options, each designed to meet specific cold-chain requirements.

Speaking to Warehouse & Logistics News in an exclusive interview, Robert Jervis explained that the integrated format of UK Logistics Week is deliberately designed to give visitors a comprehensive view of the supply chain within a single week. Multimodal 2026 will take place from 30 June to 2 July at the NEC Birmingham and will sit at the centre of UK Logistics Week, bringing together five major logistics and transport events under one umbrella. At the NEC, the Multimodal exhibition will co-locate with Warehouse. & Yard. in adjoining halls, while eDelivery Expo (eDX) will be hosted within the Multimodal hall itself. At the same time, the Road Transport Expo (RTX) will run concurrently at NAEC Stoneleigh and will be connected to the NEC by free shuttle buses.

Swisslog has expanded its automated storage and retrieval offering for pallet handling with the introduction of AgileStore, a roaming four-way pallet shuttle system. The new system is designed to support high-density storage and fully automated material flows, adding flexibility to pallet-based warehouse operations. AgileStore broadens Swisslog’s pallet ASRS portfolio, which already includes the PowerStore bi-directional pallet shuttle and the Vectura pallet stacker crane. The addition positions the company to offer multiple automated pallet-handling approaches within a single range.

Hörmann UK has introduced the V 5025 Z, a new flexible high-speed door aimed at reducing disruption in busy industrial environments. The door uses zip technology that allows the curtain to disengage from the side guides in the event of an impact, helping to avoid damage.

EuroSort’s E-Sort system is designed to handle high-volume sorting within a limited footprint. The system’s SmartWall layout allows a large number of sorting destinations to be accommodated in a confined space, enabling higher processing capacity without expanding existing facilities. According to the company, this approach will support increased throughput while reducing reliance on additional labour and new infrastructure.
