The UKWA Warehousing Association’s Awards for Excellence were celebrated in a ceremony held at Royal Lancaster London on 15 July, with Warehouse & Logistics News attending as media partner for the event. Yale Lift Truck Technologies has expanded its electric forklift range with the launch of a new model. Designed for warehouse applications, the new truck has revised ergonomics and new technology options. Yale claims the model can deliver lift and lower speeds up to 65% faster than rival trucks, while also aiming to improve productivity in demanding materials handling environments.
ASSA ABLOY has completed the installation of a range of industrial doors at PRL Logistics’ facility in Rotherham as part of a project to upgrade a high-traffic operational area. Working alongside contractor Fit Out UK, the company supplied several door systems, including what it says is the first UK installation of its RT1000 spiral high-speed door.
Warehouse automation is becoming increasingly common across the logistics sector, with technologies such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), conveyor systems and automated picking solutions being adopted to improve throughput and efficiency. As operators invest in automation to increase capacity and meet changing customer demands, much of the attention tends to focus on the technology itself. However, the performance of automated systems can also depend heavily on the buildings and infrastructure that support them, says John Scott Works.
Paragon Logistics has expanded its temperature-controlled storage operation in Greenford. The move comes as demand for cold chain services remains strong across the food, retail and pharmaceutical sectors.
Summer conditions can increase the challenges associated with storing and transporting temperature-sensitive products, placing greater emphasis on maintaining cold chain integrity.
JLG Industries has expanded its access equipment range with the LiftPod, which was introduced at APEX 2026, in the Netherlands. The unit is intended for routine work at height, including lighting and fixture maintenance, inspections and servicing of building systems. The platform requires no batteries or charging and can be folded for easy transport and storage.
