This testing demonstrates that the Single Bumper Pedestrian Barrier can withstand head-on impacts of 11,000 J, which is equivalent to a 3500 kg forklift truck travelling at 5.7 mph. On average, this product deflects 224mm when struck head-on by an 11,000 J impact force.

CFTS, the accrediting body who sets a national standard for Thorough Examination, has reminded inspectors about the responsibility to report serious defects found during examinations. Under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), defects that pose an imminent risk of failure and serious injury must be reported to the relevant enforcing authority as part of a responsible safety practice.

Hörmann are working with Skanska UK on a £259 million Ministry of Defence contract to deliver the Vehicle Storage Support Programme (VSSP) at Ashchurch in Tewkesbury, which will provide modern, sustainable and effective storage and maintenance for the British Army’s land equipment fleet.
