What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
Designing new structures to suit individual client needs and ensuring the project is completed on time and within the budget.
Who has inspired you most in your career?
I don’t aspire to any celebrities, so I would have to say my family.
If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
The coffee machine, as it’s the life and soul of the warehouse at every break time.
If you had your time again, what would you do different?
Nothing, I’ve enjoyed my working career as it is. I don’t believe in regretting choices, you learn from them.
What’s your favourite pastime?
Watching any motor racing, if its fast and has got an engine, it’s interesting.
Do you play a sport, follow a sport or support a team?
Do track days and offroading count? I also enjoy watching my local amateur football club, which is conveniently close to my house.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened in your career?
Sending a quote to a client and forgetting to hide the back page with the breakdown and profit margins. Learnt to triple check!
Do you have any hidden talents?
I used to be a chef and enjoy cooking and smoking on a BBQ for hours.
Who would be your favourite party guest?
Ricky Gervais, I think he’d certainly be able to make me laugh, but more importantly, would bring plenty of great conversations.
If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
I’d buy a larger house and a high end car. I wouldn’t want to retire but reduce my hours to spend time with the family.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Dark humour, I think we’ll leave it at that.
What’s your dream holiday?
Anywhere in Greece in an all inclusive hotel. Plenty of food, drink and activities to keep the kids entertained.
What’s your favourite music album?
I don’t have a particular album or artist, I just prefer most music pre 2010.
What’s your favourite movie or Netflix series?
For films I’d have to pick the Jurassic Park collection, series would be Stranger Things and Breaking Bad.
What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Try and enjoy your work, find something that keeps you motivated and never be afraid to ask questions. The industry moves at such a rate that if you don’t continue to learn, you’ll be left behind.
