BiGDUG, a leading provider of the most up-to-date storage solutions, has teamed up with Saveco Environmental Limited, a member of the globally operating WAMGROUP, to help provide a successful storage solution in their new warehouse in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
Saveco Environmental, a leader in bulk materials handling and waste water treatment since 1968, has relocated to a new warehouse and required the ultimate in storage efficiency while needing to accommodate the company’s expanding inventory. Saveco International, a leading provider of state-of-the-art solutions to customers in both the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, approached the Business Service specialists at BiGDUG to tackle the project, emerging as the ideal storage specialists to source, deliver, and install in a timely and efficient manner.
The collaboration commenced with the team at BiGDUG first assisting in designing and building their existing pallet racking, which was previously installed by the BiGDUG experts at their original facility. Utilising Saveco Environmental’s existing product meant reduced costs and wastage while ensuring seamless integration with the company’s new operational requirements.
A key challenge of Saveco Environmental’s new warehouse fit-out was finding a storage solution for the awkwardly sized machinery, held on pallets, while still adhering to forklift truck 4000mm height limitations. The experts at BiGDUG rose to the challenge, overcoming height restrictions and maximising storage capacity by developing a smart, bespoke storage solution that combines double-deep pallet racking and several bays of cantilever racking at Saveco Environmental’s upgraded premises.
The incorporation of cantilever racking as part of the solution ensures compatibility between the forklift truck and the racking, with the highest arm level being low enough for a forklift truck to reach the fourth pallet on the racking, and enough clearance between the top of the machinery and the underside of the arms below. This strategic approach optimises space while accommodating the unique dimensions of Saveco International’s machinery.
