Dexory provides the logistics industry with real-time warehouse insights using fully autonomous mobile robots. Dexory’s robots measure, count, track and find inventory across warehouses as they navigate the racks, without workflow disruption. The data is pushed in real-time to their DexoryView platform offering end-to-end visibility across the state of operations in an intuitive, easy-to-access digital format. The insights extracted help discover inefficiencies across each location, optimise present operations and de-risk the evolution of a company’s supply chain.

Oana Jinga, CCO & Co-founder of Dexory spoke to Warehouse & Logistics News.

What are your best-known products/solutions/services?

Dexory launched DexoryView at the beginning of the year. The DexoryView solution is a one-of-its-kind platform. It provides access to a real-time representation of the state of warehouses via an intuitive, easy-to-access digital format, which is fed with real-time information captured from warehouses, through the use of autonomous robots. Dexory helps quickly respond to warehouse operational challenges.

How is your industry sector performing at the moment?

Robotics and automation within supply chain and logistics is a sector that is trending. The majority of logistics providers are exploring automation to support their operations. Due to exponential demand, there are requirements for highly efficient warehousing and inventory management due. And the difficulty in finding the right labour and soaring overhead costs have only added to the need for automation and robotics.

Which industry sectors are your customers in and which ones are growing fastest?

We work with industries that have logistics as the heart of their business. These include logistics & supply chain, as well as manufacturing logistics, but we also partner with industries such as cargo handling, retail & e-commerce and food & beverage.

E-commerce has definitely experienced unprecedented growth over the last few years. This change has amplified the industry’s need for efficient warehousing, inventory management and real- time data.

What sets your company apart as a supplier in your category?

Combining proprietary hardware and software to finally provide warehouse operators with accurate, real-time visibility on inventory and operations inside the warehouse, at the click of a button.

There are two key parts to the Dexory proposition – the data capturing the relevant information, using autonomous robots and, the most important and impactful part: the DexoryView digital twin platform providing the data insights and visualisation with analysis and comparison. We are the only company in the world that brings the two together.

What’s a unique product feature that your solution has?

Dexory’s aim is to enable warehouse staff to focus on key operations, utilising automation to digitise the more tedious and repetitive tasks. This is an important factor for the logistics industry which already lacks resources, so attracting and retaining good employees is now the top priority in the warehouse sector.

Our technology can capture unprecedented levels of data insights, which sets us apart from our competitors. Using AI to access both real-time and historical data, provides companies with information to forecast and plan more accurately, improve their efficiencies and have smarter management of their workforce.

What are the major trends and developments affecting your category and your customers, and how are you responding?

The logistics industry has been pressurised with growing demands and higher expectations to deliver on time, every time. Many of our customers are naturally turning to automation and digitisation. There’s a focus on visibility and real-time data to become more resilient, achieve improved efficiency and productivity, and meet customer’s needs.

Dexory is in a great position to empower customers who understand that data has great power to lead decisions, optimise processes and improve supply chain resilience.

Can you tell us about any recent customer contract wins or projects and how you helped the customer meet their challenges?

This year, Maersk partnered with us for DexoryView’s ability to help address their issues with inventory management and rack occupancy. Dexory’s robots and data visualisation platform has been working to help Maersk measure, track and locate goods across every logistics step, from inbound to storage to outbound. It has removed the need for repetitive tasks and enabled staff to focus on key operations, while using space wisely and more profitably, and attracting and retaining employees.

Do you invest in staff training and skills development?

Dexory’s values and culture revolve around growth, collaboration and innovation. We like to support colleagues in their ambitions through internal mentoring, where our team can learn key skills and knowledge from each other. And Dexory also has funds allocated for Learning & Development where people can learn about skills they are interested in.

What is the company’s commitment to social responsibility?

Dexory has always been pushing towards complying with Environmental, Social and Governance ESG responsibilities but also monitoring our progress and putting steps in place to always better our understanding and our strategy around it.

We want to set clear standards and expectations across the business. Which supports us and our network to meet. Currently, we are working on a new overall Diversity Equity and Inclusivity strategy in the next few months, which will support all of the current actions on Mentorship and Sponsorship Programs, Flexible Work Policies and Recruitment and Hiring processes.

Are you helping customers boost the level of automation in their business?

Our platform automates data collection and builds real-time digital twins that unlock insights across all levels of warehouse operations. Our aim is to utilise automation to digitise the more tedious and repetitive tasks and enable warehouse staff to focus on key operations. The logistics industry has faced many challenges and lacks resources.

Do you help customers maximise the use of their existing warehouse space?

Absolutely! We understand that rack space is a valuable resource for most logistics providers. Dexory’s solution helps managers and warehouse staff always know exactly where the gaps are in order to maximise utilisation.

DexoryView is designed to keep track of occupancy on the racks, flag any unoccupied space and optimise to use the warehouse space to 100% of its capacity. It provides a detailed planogram showing occupied and free rack / shelf space for efficient put-aways, capacity forecasting and suggested space maximisation, etc.

Will you be investing in your premises over the next 12 months?

At the end of June, Dexory secured $19 million in Series A funding led by leading European VC firm Atomico, with participation from existing investors Lakestar, Kindred, Capnamic, and Maersk Growth. This Series A funding will support Dexory in scaling the team, as well as our facilities and production which aligns with our strategy to expand beyond the UK, in the EU and the US markets.

How future proof and flexible are your solutions?

DexoryView works on a standard subscription service to our customers which means that there is a certain level of scalability and flexibility. We are able to adapt to the specific needs of our customers with a platform designed to be customisable by the user.

What exhibitions can we expect to see your company exhibiting at in 2024?

We will be at Manifest in Las Vegas in February. In March we will be at Modex in Atlanta, and IntraLogisteX in Birmingham at the same time as LogiMAT in Stuttgart.

How would you sum up your company in three words?

Driven, disruptive, agile.
