Aumund Fördertechnik GmbH in Rheinberg, Germany offers reliable and cost-effective transportation and conveying solutions for foundries all over the world. After having supplied a Flat Plate Conveyor to replace a vibratory feeder, Aumund has now developed a special Cleaning and Sorting Conveyor for Hawle Guss GmbH in Fürstenwalde. The function of the Conveyor supplied by Aumund is purely to transport material from the manufacturing plant in the basement on to the next process stage on the ground floor. As part of the next stage of expansion, a Cleaning and Sorting Conveyor has been specially developed for the application, and replaced the previously utilised vibrating conveyor.

With rising demands, book distributor Hachette UK Distribution (HUKD) had to increase order fulfilment capacity & consolidate some operations into one larger warehouse, the Hely Hutchinson Centre (HHC). HUKD consulted LAC Logistics Automation to partner with them and support the growth transition. The project comprised of a multi-tier zone picking solution across four mezzanine levels to manage a new order picking system for educational publishers.

Completing a contract worth over £1.5m, Axiom GB has automated World of Books’ ecommerce fulfilment centre in Coventry. Capable of processing up to 200,000 items a day, Axiom’s innovative installation includes belt and zero line pressure conveyors, a sorter with a series of 10 multi-directional Swivel Wheel Sorters to divert items to one of the 21 outfeed stations, and a high speed tote lift. It also features three inducts capable of diverting 5000 books per hour to three destinations based on recycling, required stock, or manual processing.
