Demonstrating innovation, DT Research, the leading designer and manufacturer of purpose-built computing solutions for vertical markets, has announced the company’s DT362GL (6-inch) and DT382GL (8-inch) rugged tablets have been enhanced with built-in 60-foot range Barcode Scanners in addition to 30-foot range Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RFID readers to continue to deliver cutting-edge long-range asset verification and tracking capabilities. The DT362GL and DT382GL handhelds now run the Microsoft® Windows® 11 IoT Enterprise operating system, which enables a seamless field-to-office asset management experience.

Boosting their green credentials, a partnership between Sainsbury’s Distribution Centre in Daventry and supply chain solutions company CHEP has taken over a 1,000 trucks off the road and saved nearly 25,000 transport miles in the process. As part of its transport solutions support, CHEP has been working with Sainsbury’s to find ways to increase the efficiency and sustainability of its supply chain to save transport miles and Co2.

Breaking a record, Narrow Aisle Ltd, manufacturer of the Flexi Truck range of VNA articulated warehouse truck-based intralogistics solutions, has announced that in the financial year to December 2022, it recorded a global turnover of £31.6 million – the highest in the company’s history. This is up from the £25.5 million achieved in 2019 – the year when the company was the subject of a buyout by members of its senior management team.

Recognising excellence, RSS was awarded by SCS JV at HS2. The award was presented at a forum that brought together supply chain representatives that deliver lifting, loading, and unloading product and services to the project. RSS was one of four companies honoured at the event, which centred on sharing of information for continued improvement of best practices and supply chain safety excellence, according to our lifting gears and cranes feature.

Increasing safety, railway fastenings manufacturer Pandrol has installed a Thorworld modular loading dock and ramp to replace its previous solution, which had successfully delivered 15 years of service at the company’s Worksop facility. The new solution, tailored to Pandrol’s needs, offers enhanced throughput and safety benefits. Since installation, the new modular dock has led to significant time savings ranging from 10 to 20% depending on the nature of the load, our loading bay feature reports.
