Demonstrating ambition, Joe Browns, the fashion and lifestyle retailer, has announced that it would be investing £2m in a warehouse upgrade that is designed to support both its growth ambitions and increase pick face efficiency even further. Its existing warehouse, that forms part of its head office building in Holbeck, Leeds, was extended in November 2020 at a cost of £1.5m.

Investing in the future, Wen Shao, a student from Birmingham, has been awarded a sponsorship to study a four-year Transport and Logistics degree at Aston University, funded by the RHA’s Benevolent Fund. Wen Shao was successful following an interview for the role in November, after he impressed the Fund’s trustees with his passion for the industry and having previously held several warehousing jobs.

Upgrading facilities, Union Industries has installed its leading high-speed industrial doors at Ragus Sugars’ facilities in Slough. The latest two Bulldoors have replaced two poor performing doors at the factory’s main Vat Processing Room, that is in constant use by forklift trucks and personnel. The British-built Bulldoors are equipped to deal with the positive pressures imposed on them by their air-filtration systems along with around the clock use, increasing productivity due to its high speed and ease of use.

Demonstrating excellence, a major positive for Translift’s customers is the fact that, despite lead times continually increasing for Materials Handling Equipment, the company has been able to deliver selected Bendi Forklifts between 12 to 14 weeks after order confirmation. Translift is also offering 5 Year Parts & Labour Warranty on major components of selected new Bendi Forklifts, subject to terms and conditions. Lead times on ECO machines have been even less, ranging from 4-6 weeks after order confirmation, our fork lift trucks feature reports.

Forging relationships, Nulogy’s flexible cloud-based software was chosen as the new platform for the co-packing of automotive spare parts at CEVA Logistics’ Melbourne facility in Australia. New industry-leading contract packing software is replacing the existing solution in order to meet the growing requirements for the handling of automotive parts, says our packaging feature. By digitalising operations at the site, Nulogy will drive enhanced visibility and real-time production monitoring, as well as improve materials and inventory management for the business and its customers.
