Another successful company, Iris Ohayama, world leader in storage products, household appliances, furniture and hygiene products have entrusted AR Racking with optimising its storage area at its production and logistics centre in Lieusaint (France). It is a strategic centre designed to strengthen the presence in Europe of the Japanese international company.

In other news, the Universal Dock Door Lift (UDD) from Transdek UK is a rugged, modular loading bay system which can easily accommodate any vehicle type including vans, LGVs and both single and double decked HGVs. The company have recently launched a promotional video which illustrates the unique features and benefits that the lift offers.

Over in Norway, that country’s leading wholesaler of industrial parts for heating, plumbing and ventilation is reaping the benefits of robotic fulfilment as part of a new automated solution from KNAPP. Picking of goods from the store is performed either at the three goods-to-person workstations that are equipped with pick-to-light technology or by the Pick-it-Easy Robot. With the help of AI software developed by the Silicon Valley start-up, Covariant, KNAPP’s Pick-it-Easy Robot picks orders with a high degree of accuracy at speeds equivalent to manual picking stations, with the ability to maintain these speeds over much longer periods, our order picking feature reports.

Closer to home, D B Schenker commissioned a Maxi-Space building from Smart-Space in Tamworth, West Midlands, for a client’s storage use, according to our buildings and facilities feature. The D B Schenker solution is 30m wide x 78m long x 6m high. It has a thermo inflatable roof which provides an element of warmth and a lot of light. Its insulated walls make it a sturdy, secure build, complete with pedestrian doors and a roller shutter door.

More innovation from Kite Packaging, whose bestselling Hivewrap paper is now available as an all-in-one protective paper solution named Hivewrap box. Kite have cleverly designed a fully recyclable corrugated dispenser which expands and compresses the hive-shaped cells to provide effective shock absorption and protection, making it a great addition to any packing area, says our packaging feature. The dispenser features a pre-cut slit through which the paper is pulled manually, expanding into a strong interlocking hexagonal structure as it does.
