A very special charity raffle has been organised in Thatcham, to raise £40,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event will take place on Friday 14th October at 4pm and has been organised by Stacatruc Limited.

We will be serving a succulent hog roast, with a selection of crisp red and white wine together with beer and cider! Food and drink will be served free of charge, just bring yourself, a kind donation and help us raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Support! Tickets will be available for £50 to be entered into our prize draw.

Watch out for a special celebrity guest appearance to pick a ticket from the prize draw for a lucky forklift truck owner!

Stacatruc Limited decided to hold the event after a successful period of trading as Stacatruc Limited, and they wanted to give something back! 770 people are diagnosed with cancer in West Berkshire every year, which is why we have chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as our chosen charity in respect of those close to our hearts who have been supported emotionally and financially by Macmillan in the past.

Stacatruc directors said: “10 people a day in Berkshire hear the devastating new ‘You have cancer’ which is why we feel that it’s vital to help ease the pain. We’re expecting to see a selection of people, whether that’s our customers, suppliers or even some new faces to join us to fundraise an impressive amount for Macmillan. Macmillan gave £13,220 worth of grants to people living in West Berkshire in 2014, so every penny counts! We’ve never organised an event like this before, so as you can imagine, we’re really excited to see the outcome!”

All the funds raised will be used by Macmillan to fund vital cancer services for people affected by cancer, from specialist cancer nurses to grants for cancer patients with money problems.

Macmillan’s fundraising manager for North West Hampshire and West Berkshire, Rachel Docherty said: “Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever.

“No one should have to face cancer alone and events like this help us be there for people with cancer and their family when they need us most.”
