With more than 300 events to stage every year Cancer Research UK had huge logistical challenges in transporting goods across the country. The events’ organisers came to the multi-award winning transit packaging innovator, Loadhog for a solution, and the company was only too happy to help.
The Sheffield-based company donated a number of Hogboxes – Loadhog’s unique, reusable bulk containers with attached lids. Ideal for handling a wide variety of items, the Hogboxes were used first during the recent Shine Night Walk to carry equipment, as well as treats for the walkers to eat on the route. The Hogboxes were also used for returning leftovers to the charity’s warehouse for storage.
Employee-owned Loadhog also arranged for the Hogboxes to be moulded in the Cancer Research UK colours of purple and pink, even branding them with the charity’s logo, thereby providing a bespoke, reusable solution to the charity’s needs and saving them a significant amount of money.
Nick Wright, Cancer Research UK’s equipment and suppliers’ manager, commented: “As a charity we must buy, store and transport event equipment as efficiently as possible. In the instance of transport Loadhog has provided the answer and the company’s donation is hugely appreciated.
“We hope to work with Loadhog on transport in the future, and also on storage and supply chain solutions. We intend to recommend its products highly.”
The 2014 Shine Night Walk raised more than £4.5m for research into cancer. Coincidentally Cancer Research UK is Loadhog’s chosen charity for 2014 with more than £3,000 already raised in various events including a Dragon Boating Race and a Race Night.
