Progressive Flow Storage provider Marigen Products is now into its second year and the business model is working well. Managing Director Chris Adams commented “The key to our model is in adding value, and taking responsibility for the solution. By working closely with our trade customers we make them comfortable in supplying non-core product solutions. The business model is very low overhead, and our supply partners recognise the value we add, giving us Transfer prices that mean competitiveness is maintained also. We source quality of product and service, and only require a minimum margin to support our needs. Marigen also undertakes its own solutions in conjunction with partners as at times this suits the requirement.”

PrintMarigen’s main Partner is Saar Lagertechnik which manufactures Pallet Flow, Carton Flow and Carrier Push Back products. Marigen and Saar are sharing a stand (18P30) at IMHX 2013. Saar is based in Germany with its Head Office and design centre in Frankfurt, and production near Leipzig. Saar has been in existence for over 100 years as an Engineering company and started manufacturing Flow Storage about 10 years ago. “The key to Saar is the skill set of its Engineers” stated Chris, “Between Saar and ourselves, I believe we have the best experience available in the world due to the many years spent working in this industry, on major projects and developments. We recently worked together in developing the new Carton Flow beds. Saar has the benefit of its products being developed recently from scratch, but with very experienced people.”

Saar has recently sold 55% of its shares to Provost. Provost wants Saar to be a local vehicle in Germany to sell its shelving and mezzanine products in the German market. Flow Storage sales to the trade and in export markets, remain exactly as they are and this division will not be affected by the acquisition. Saar continues to be run as before by the same people.

Marigen also helps Saar in promoting its products in other export markets outside of Germany, from Russia to Norway and Israel. Chris added “We are looking forward to IMHX 2013 as a way of building on our strong start”.
