Materials handling specialist Impact Handling is entering the next chapter of its journey after announcing it will be renamed Aprolis Handling.
The rebrand comes five years after Impact Handling was acquired by French-owned materials handling specialist Aprolis Group.
Founded in Hull in 1985, Impact Handling has built an enviable reputation within the UK materials handling sector, growing from a regional supplier into a nationwide provider of forklift trucks, warehouse equipment and integrated materials handling solutions.
Today, the business delivers complete materials handling solutions, including counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, powered pallet trucks, stackers, warehouse equipment and specialist solutions designed to meet the unique requirements of different industries and operational environments.
This solutions-led approach has been central to Impact Handling’s success, allowing the business to support customers throughout the entire equipment lifecycle, from initial specification and acquisition through to servicing, maintenance and ongoing fleet optimisation.
By combining equipment expertise with a comprehensive support offering, Impact has helped customers improve operational efficiency, productivity and safety across their operations.
A key part of Impact Handling’s success has been its long-standing relationship with Cat® Lift Trucks, which remains central to its product offering. Complementing this, the business also partners with leading manufacturers including Carer, Konecranes and Mol, providing customers with access to a comprehensive range of materials handling solutions. This allows Impact Handling to recommend, supply and support the right equipment for each individual application.
Following its acquisition by Aprolis Group in 2021, Impact Handling has continued to build on its strong foundations, achieving significant growth over the past five years.
The transition to Aprolis Handling marks an exciting new stage in the evolution of the UK-based business, supporting Aprolis Group’s ambition to create a stronger, more unified European platform that benefits customers, colleagues, partners and shareholders alike, while providing the company a vehicle for further growth.
Steve Shakespeare, CEO of Aprolis UK, said: “When Aprolis Group initially acquired Impact, we deliberately made the decision to retain the company name because of the strong reputation the business had built over many years and the respect it commanded throughout the industry.
“That was the right decision at the time, as Impact is such an important part of the business and something we have been incredibly proud to have under the Aprolis UK banner. However, having recently marked five years since joining the Aprolis family, it felt like the right moment to take the next step in our journey. As such, over the coming months, the transition will become progressively more visible to those within and outside the business.
“The rebrand builds on the strong foundations that have made the business successful, while creating new opportunities for the future with the support, investment and expertise of Aprolis. Ultimately, becoming Aprolis Handling reflects who we are today and where we want to go tomorrow and we’re hugely excited to turn this page and embark on a new chapter under a fresh banner.”
