Over the past few years, we have seen a steady decline in the number of serious accidents involving fork lift trucks. Sadly, however, the latest statistics from the HSE (2010/11) show that such incidents have increased by almost 4%.

This increase demonstrates just how easy it is to let safety slip in the workplace, which is why we’re encouraging every business operating a fork lift truck to double their efforts and be more vigilant about safety.

The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) Safety Conference, which is sponsored by Toyota Material Handling UK, provides companies with the ideal opportunity to get up-to-date with their safety duties.

Every session has been carefully chosen to ensure that representatives of any company will benefit from attending – whether they are a small business with minimal resources and staff or a huge multinational. After all, safe practice is crucial wherever you work.

In deciding this year’s programme, we consulted with our Members to identify the key issues affecting the safety of sites, operations and colleagues both productive and safe. The feedback we’ve received enabled us to create a really focussed line-up of interesting and informative sessions.

For this reason, the theme for the FLTA Safety Conference 2012 takes the theme of Practical Solutions for Everyday Problems.

A host of industry authorities will take the stage to deliver expert knowledge on their given subjects. This will include the impact of legal changes on training, new best practice, dangers that managers may never have considered and more…
