The self storage industry is reliant upon maximising available space in order to make profitable returns; this makes efficient mezzanine floor design pivotal in all projects of this nature. This prerequisite has resulted in Active Supply & Design installing in the region of some 200,000 square metres of mezzanine flooring within this industry in differing heights and varying from one to four tiers in construction.

Active Supply & Design work closely with the country’s leading self storage provider and have done so for much of their 20 year history. Both companies have grown together as the self storage industry has rapidly expanded across the country. In recognition of their hard work Active have become the only company to be awarded partnership status to this highly regarded client and are justifiably proud of that fact.

Active have consistently demonstrated their willingness to travel throughout the country to service the requirements of this key account and have provided the very best in service levels, resulting in one of the clients hierarchy making the following comment about Active Supply & Design: “We have a long standing and valued relationship with Active. They have consistently delivered value for money and demonstrated a can – do, will – do attitude, from design all the way through to work completion, which has contributed significantly to the growth of our company”

Active Supply & Design are currently nearing the completion of another three tier mezzanine floor for this prestigious client working alongside the main contractor appointed to erect this brand new purpose built building. The project is being completed under CDM regulations as should be all projects of this magnitude. Active Supply & Design ensure that all health and safety directives are adhered to including the use of safety netting and edge protection where appropriate during the installation.

The mezzanine floor extends to some 5,000m2 and is fully protected against fire for one hour as dictated by local building regulations. The floor is accessed by two enclosed staircases complete with fire fighting lobbies and a passenger lift.

The installation of the mezzanine floor will be completed in less than six weeks which falls within a critical programme dictated by the client in order to open the facility by the due date. Once again Active have been able to demonstrate their specialist expertise in the design and installation of complex projects and their unerring ability to work to the most demanding of deadlines.
