As part of National Fork Lift Safety Week, Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks will give away hundreds of high visibility vests to forklift users during the month of September.

Every year more than 400 workers in the UK die or suffer serious injuries – including amputations, fractures and dislocations – in fork lift truck accidents. Tragically, most of these accidents involve someone who was not even driving the truck at the time.

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks general manager Mike Jones says: “All too often, that’s because the driver simply didn’t see someone… which is why we are supporting National Fork Lift Safety Week by giving away vests designed to make drivers and pedestrians much more visible. There are no strings and no purchase is necessary.

“At Mitsubishi, we take safety very seriously. That was reflected in the FLTA’s Annual Awards for Excellence 2011 where our latest IC engine truck won the coveted Safety Award by massively improving visibility and driver protection.

“And that focus on safety is why we are giving away hundreds of safety vests.”

Designed to the wearer noticed, the Mitsubishi Hi Vis Safety Vest is available in a wide range of sizes and features reflective braces and body-band tapes for stand-out visibility.

Readers can claim their free vest by visiting the Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks website ( and filling in a short entry form. By doing so, you’ll be automatically entered for the giveaway draw.

No purchase is necessary to be in with a chance of winning.
