It’s that time again – the International Materials Handling Exhibition, or IMHX for short, is upon us once more. Taking place once every three years, IMHX is the UK’s premier logistics, materials handling and storage exhibition, showcasing thousands of products and services from right across the supply chain.
Coinciding with the latest Show, Warehouse & Logistics News is proud to present our exclusive IMHX 2010 Preview Supplement, to help you plan your time and get the most value out of your visit.
In this Supplement you’ll find a wealth of information about the Show and the exhibitors. We’ve also secured exclusive interviews with some of the leading companies in warehousing and logistics, each one a major player in their respective sector, and all with something to say.
IMHX 2010 will provide visitors with a unique one-stop-shop for everything required in the modern warehouse. There’s a wealth of materials handling equipment, from forklift trucks to automated logistics systems. Visitors will also discover innovative and cost-effective ideas in a host of areas, from racking and shelving to recruitment and training services. Great show offers include free iPads from Jungheinrich and The Rack Group giving away £1,400 of prizes on their stands. And in the midst of all this you’ll find Warehouse & Logistics News, the only fortnightly title for the industry, literally in the centre of the action, exhibiting on stand 19J 149.
IMHX 2010 is a big, big show, and Toyota Materials Handling UK’s stand, 20F70, is the biggest of them all, with three live demonstration areas focusing on three different product areas, hand pallet trucks, counterbalance forklifts and warehouse trucks and a virtual warehouse. There’s also a dedicated Toyota seminar theatre featuring a series of master-class workshops on how Toyota help customers achieve efficiency in their businesses.
It was good to hear from Rob Fisher, Exhibition Director for IMHX that the Show has chosen Help for Heroes as its official charity for this year’s event. It’s a sound choice! The logistics industry can trace its roots back to the military, and there remains to this day a very strong synergy between our industry and the armed forces.
If achieving ‘greenness’ is a preoccupation for you, as it is for so many in the industry, you’ll be interested to hear that Shell Gas (LPG) are sponsoring the environmental zone at IMHX, and focusing on the cleaner burn LPG delivers for IC-powered forklifts.Shell Gas will have a small refuelling unit at the NEC to demonstrate how it works. To attract the maximum number of visitors to their stand they will also have a replica of the F1 Ferrari car that Shell is sponsoring this season, and offering visitors to the stand the chance to win tickets for the 2011 British Grand Prix.
While you’re at IMHX, you can go from environmentally green to emerald green without leaving the Show. Irish specialist fork lift supplier Aisle-Master and its sister company Combilift are sharing two large stands at IMHX, one dedicated to their widely exported forklift trucks, the other to hospitality. We’d like to pass on the message that Aisle-Master and Combilift are extending an invitation to all visitors to come and see their trucks and then enjoy one of Ireland’s other best-known exports – a pint of Guinness. So if it’s a bit of the craic you’re after, you know where to go!
Enjoy the Supplement, and we look forward to meeting you at the Show.
