At their recent AGM, members of the Automated Material Handling Systems Association (AMHSA) reported continued high levels of demand for warehouse automation.

The AGM included the election of Scott Chambers as AMHSA’s new President – taking over the reins from Martin Elliott – and reflected the optimistic mood in the automated handling industry. Dave Berridge, AMHSA Secretary: “The current appetite for logistics automation is unprecedented and our members are working incredibly hard to respond to it. Demand is being fuelled by labour shortages, the need for speed and accuracy in growing e-com operations, and the increasing desire of clients to harness the potential of digitalization.”
Developing talent
In response to burgeoning demand for automation, AMHSA continues to support its members in recruiting and training the workforce required. Many members are nurturing young people through either their own apprenticeship programmes or by participation in AMHSA’s scheme, which is operated in association with car manufacturer, Toyota.
New Health and Safety Forum
AMHSA also provides a full programme of training workshops on specific aspects of automated material handling throughout the year. The next event will be a meeting of the newly formed AMHSA Health and Safety Forum, which will take place in Market Harborough on Tuesday 11th June.
Meet the Experts at IMHX
The majority of AMHSA members will be exhibiting at IMHX 2019. The show will once again feature the AMHSA Pavilion, where visitors can benefit from the ‘Meet the Experts’ seminar programme.
