Driven by the boom in e-commerce, third-party logistics (3PL), and automation, the Warehouse Management System (WMS) industry is experiencing rapid acceleration. Cloud-based software systems make up the majority of the market share, as businesses lean toward scalable, lower upfront-cost subscription models. There is a push to integrate WMS platforms with Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) to maximise speed, according to Mordor Intelligence.

Digital transformation in the supply chain means different things to different businesses. For some it means replacing a legacy WMS. For others it means connecting systems that have never shared data or building reliable reporting out of an operation that still runs largely on spreadsheets. Whatever form it takes, the question most UK logistics and operations leaders are sitting with is not whether transformation is needed, but how to know when the time is right, says SCCG.
Swisslog and Lebkuchen-Schmidt have reached a key milestone with the successful installation of six Vectura pallet stacker cranes at the company’s new distribution centre in Nuremberg – just one year after project launch. The project now progresses to the next phase of integration and commissioning. Swisslog’s SynQ Warehouse Management System (WMS) will orchestrate all manual, semi-automated, and fully automated processes in the facility – from the stacker cranes and conveyor systems through to the AutoStore system supporting e-commerce fulfilment.
Nulogy, a leading provider of manufacturing operations software, has announced its Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) has been selected as “Overall SupplyTech Solution of the Year” in the 5th annual SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards programme conducted by SupplyTech Breakthrough. Nulogy’s Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) connects the full supply chain, from brand-side planning and supplier collaboration to shop floor execution, quality management, and maintenance, on a single, unified system. The result is a closed-loop network that streamlines planning, producing, and delivering.
The new logistics centre for Swiss e-commerce company QoQa has gone live in Eclépens, an important milestone in QoQa and KNAPP’s collaboration, as the custom automation solution paves the way for QoQa to continue expanding on the Swiss market and in the German-speaking world. KNAPP’s warehouse management system KiSoft WMS plays a key role in the overall system. It controls all stocks, storage locations and orders and, together with the warehouse control system (WCS), directs all material flows precisely.
As retailers adopt advanced software to manage the complex, multi-line logic needed for rapid last-mile delivery and localised order picking, the WMS market is set for further growth.
