Twinplast, a leading manufacturer of bespoke corrugated polypropylene storage and packaging, has made a key appointment to support its growth strategy with the arrival of Andrew Hawksley as financial director.
Andrew brings 25 years of wide-ranging experience gained from various senior roles leading financial operations for a variety of organisations, from SMEs through to multi-national companies with 500m+ turnovers. He also has a successful track record in the manufacturing sector, where he has been instrumental in driving growth for a range of companies including an international packaging supplier.
Toby Garrett, managing director at Twinplast, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome someone of Andrew’s calibre on board. He understands the manufacturing sector and knows what it takes to continually grow and innovate in our industry. Andrew will be a dynamic presence in aligning our business and finance strategy, applying his experience, insight and expertise in financial leadership and transformation of systems and commercial functions.”
Andrew’s appointment follows a period of substantial investment for Twinplast. Earlier this year the company acquired a new £1.5m extrusion line to enhance its ability to manufacture a wide range of corrugated polypropylene products, including packaging, storage solutions and display materials. The new machinery has increased Twinplast’s production capacity by 3-4 times at an energy consumption rate of 40% less per tonne of material produced.
Andrew Hawksley said:
“I’m very excited to join a company which has become a market leader for bespoke corrugated polypropylene products in the UK. Twinplast’s recent factory investment demonstrates the company’s ambitions and sets a path for expansion across its core markets, including FMCG, retail, horticultural, construction, industrial, healthcare, packaging, logistics and pharmaceutical. Twinplast has major plans for the future and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”
Based near Dunstable in Bedfordshire, Twinplast is a total solutions provider with the ability to provide an end-to-end service, from consultancy and design to custom manufacturing through to delivery. The company utilises the inherent versatility of corrugated polypropylene to produce a huge range of products and applications.
