A-SAFE, a global leader in workplace efficiency and safety solutions, hosted the final event of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) Roadshow on October 3 at its Fathom3 R&D facility in Elland, Yorkshire.

The event brought together industry leaders from across the UK and included a series of presentations, panel discussions and site visits for the approximately 40 attendees.

James Smith, co-CEO at A-SAFE: “I’m pleased to host so many of the industry’s big names at our headquarters in Elland, and it is particularly special to do so in what is our 40th anniversary year.

“Manufacturing is at the forefront of innovation and technology, and I’d like to thank the UKWA and its chief executive Clare Bottle for doing such an exceptional job at raising awareness of the sector. Moving forward, we must amplify these initiatives to demonstrate the cutting-edge nature of modern manufacturing and the positive impact it has in so many aspects, from the national economy to local communities.”

The UKWA Roadshow is an initiative that celebrates the association’s 80th anniversary. With 2024 being marked by UKWA as ‘The Year of Warehousing’, its chief executive Clare Bottle embarked on a nationwide tour from the start of the year exploring 80 warehouses across the UK and Ireland. This initiative has highlighted the cutting-edge technology and dynamic operations of the sector, while promoting its continuous commitment to innovation.

Clare Bottle, chief executive of the UKWA, commented: “I’d like to thank A-SAFE for being such a fantastic supporter of the UKWA Roadshow and for sponsoring eight of our events across the UK and Ireland during 2024 The Year of Warehousing. It’s been a privilege to see and hear firsthand so many fantastic stories from professionals across the country. The dedication and high-level expertise I’ve witnessed throughout this tour reaffirm the critical role smart warehousing plays in our economy and supply chains.”

During the event, Lisa Ramos, A-SAFE’s Health & Safety Accident Impact Speaker, presented ‘The Hidden Cost of Industrial Workplace Accidents’, an insight into the importance of warehouses being equipped with solutions certified to the PAS 13:2017 standard, the first certification for industrial safety barriers which A-SAFE steered and contributed to its creation.

Fueled by continuous investment in research and development, the Yorkshire-based company continues to set the standard and raise awareness for workplace efficiency and safety across 65 countries around the globe.
