Modular construction is often more energy efficient and sustainable. The controlled environment of CopriSystems’ workshops allows for more accuracy and therefore less waste. Traditional construction methods require extra materials that lead to increased waste, which is then sent directly to landfill from the site during the clean-up operation at the end of a project.

CoTech Trading in Bedford is a fascinating family business that supplies rare and legacy military aircraft parts across the world. The firm’s new building, built by Smart-Space, is remarkably warm – attributable largely to the substantial steel roof. When required, there are instant wall heaters operated by a sensor, reacting to body presence – an efficient way to add extra heat where people might be working.

Rubb has launched the PDS, PDM, and PDL, a new range of pre-designed buildings. By smartly standardising designs and components, the firm can create savings in time and costs that can be passed on to customers. Rubb uses hot-dip galvanised steel framework and reinforced, flame-retardant PVC — the same materials that earned the company a reputation for quality with top-spec custom-designed buildings.

Bott Group, which manufactures a vast range of workshop systems, van racking and tool storage equipment, wanted to increase warehouse storage and workshop space at their Ashby de la Zouch site to reduce off-site storage and transport costs. After a site visit, Aganto advised a fully insulated 20m x 30m x 5.2m temporary structure. The temporary building met their desired 60/40 divide within the building to accommodate warehousing storage and floor space for a vehicle workshop.

As more buildings, temporary and permanent, are erected, the warehouse industry is in a better position to serve the needs of UK consumers.
