As you would expect, the UKWA National Conference for 2024 The Year of Warehousing will be something special. We will be holding the event in a bigger purpose-built space, at the East Midlands Conference Centre, set in Nottingham University’s Park Campus, enabling us to accommodate demand for more delegate places. Over two days, an impressive line-up of high profile speakers and senior figures from the sector will join us to share insights and expertise to help attending businesses address the hot topics of the industry and prepare for the year ahead.
Setting the scene, headline speaker Trevor Williams, former chief economist of Lloyds Bank, visiting Professor at the University of Derby and regular columnist for Moneyfacts, will look at the UK and global economy, discussing global trade, ‘big’ data and long term global megatrends. In a packed agenda, with presentations, interactive panel discussions and workshops, other keynote speakers include Nick Hay, CEO of Gist, and Neil Shelton, Chief Strategy Officer at GXO, both of whom will draw on their considerable experience to discuss the impact of industry mergers and acquisitions.
Dionne Redpath, Europa Worldwide’s first Chief Operating Officer, will also be joining us to talk about workforce engagement measures introduced at Europa, and the role of warehousing automation as a tool to retain staff.
Our conference will see the launch of the new 2024 guide to the UK warehousing property market, researched and compiled for UKWA by Savills; while the latest update of our ‘gold standard’ Conditions of Contract, exclusive to UKWA members, will be unveiled by our legal partners Aaron & Partners.
A key milestone in what will be one of the busiest event programmes ever for UKWA, our National Conference provides a superb opportunity for delegates to exchange ideas, learn about new technologies and network with friends and colleagues. At UKWA, we embrace the adage, ‘work hard, play hard’ and can promise an excellent drinks reception and superb conference dinner, with intriguing after dinner entertainment to get you thinking and put a smile on your face!
Full members can still take advantage of our Early Bird 3-for-2 offer on full package tickets, but hurry, the deal is only available until 31st January.
I hope you can join us on 12-13 March – more information and booking details can be found on our website ukwa.org.uk.
