Businesses have often embraced the importance of improving energy management, and in recent years many have focused their attention on making themselves more energy efficient. With lighting alone contributing to 5% of the world’s Co2 emissions, one simple solution to achieving a more circular economy is switching from traditional lamps to LED lighting. There are many benefits to LED lighting, from cost savings right through to quality and improved functionality, and with lighting needed everywhere, having the right system in place is hugely beneficial to both people and the environment, according to Eco UK Group.

Lightfair 2023 will witness the unveiling of a game-changing innovation that is set to disrupt the lighting industry as we know it. Danlers, Calumino and Indy have collaborated to develop a revolutionary intelligent lighting control sensor that accurately counts the number of people in a room at a price point approaching that of a high-end PIR sensor. The new Danler’s CAL-CEFL12V utilises Calumino’s next generation thermal sensor technology coupled with embedded AI and computer vision to not only detect the presence of people but also count them, providing real time occupancy data that can be used for HVAC optimisation, space utilisation, security and more.

Ansell Lighting is pleased to announce that, to support international growth, it is investing in its Belfast operation to create an International Customer Hub. The opening of the hub marks a significant milestone in Ansell’s expansion into overseas markets and is part of its continued business development. Crucially, the launch of the hub for international business will allow the business to continue to provide the reliable services that existing customers have grown accustomed to.

The Zumtobel Group was able to continue the positive development of recent years during the 2022/23 financial year and performed significantly better than had been expected in view of the uncertain environment at the beginning of the year. Revenues rose by 5.3% (FX-adjusted by 4.7%) year-on-year to EUR 1,209.2 million. EBIT increased by 38.7% to EUR 84.3 million, making it the highest EBIT in 14 years and represents an EBIT margin of 7%.
