Hikrobot is a global product and solution supplier specialising in machine vision and mobile robots. Focusing on IIoT, smart logistics and smart manufacturing, Hikrobot has been providing automation solutions since 2014.

With efforts in mobile robot technology, Hikrobot has launched a series of products: Latent Mobile Robot (LMR), Forklift Mobile Robot (FMR), Carton Transfer Unit (CTU), etc., covering order fulfillment and material handling tasks from 30kg to 3,000kg.

Hikrobot’s mobile robots support 2D code, Laser SLAM and Visual SLAM navigation methods and have been deployed in more than 200 industrial scenarios, with implementation time as short as one week for standard projects. All robots can be deployed under cluster control of the in-house developed robot control system (RCS). Together with the warehouse management system (iWMS-1000), which docks seamlessly with the upper-level system, Hikrobot AMR solutions can help you simplify the intralogistics flow, reduce costs and reform the logistics process. In addition, the solutions are flexible and scalable enough to handle your business expansions by simply adding racks, robots or workstations.

So far, Hikrobot has helped more than 2,500 customers automate their intralogistics processes in the automotive, e-commerce, 3PL, consumer electronics, lithium battery and other industries. Together with local partners in the UK, Hikrobot has delivered multiple benchmark practices with mobile robot expertise and deep industry understanding.

Case Study

L&S Engineers – 100% Increase in Pick Rates & 50% Reduction in Pick Errors

Founded in 1971, L&S Engineers is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of spare parts and consumables to the plant hire and construction industries.

As the business grew, L&S Engineers faced issues such as low picking accuracy and overflowing bins. L&S Engineers employees have to pick over 1,100 order lines in an 8-hour shift at a single workstation, travelling over 20 miles a day to complete picking tasks. To optimise employee working conditions, improve daily throughput and reduce picking errors, L&S Engineers turned to mobile robot solutions for a breakthrough.

Thus, 40 Hikrobot AMRs were deployed to pick and deliver 30,000 SKUs and 50,000 totes across 650 racks, helping transform warehouse operations.

With Hikrobot’s Goods-to-Person (GTP) solution, on-site pickers only have to stand next to workstations and wait for robots to transport goods to them, saving 20 miles of walking per day. The work force is relieved, while the pick rate doubles and the error rate is cut in half. In the event the company continues to grow, the Hikrobot GTP solution is flexible and scalable enough to accommodate L&S Engineers’ future expansion by simply adding racks, workstations or robots.

Superdry – Speed up the pick efficiency by 200%

Superdry is an iconic global fashion brand that operates 768 stores in 65 countries. In the UK, the return rate for clothing purchased online is around 25%. Therefore, to ensure the best customer experience, it is essential for Superdry to maintain product availability, keep efficient fulfillment, and process returns quickly.

To support future growth and ensure accurate and efficient picking, Superdry has introduced 46 robots from Hikrobot in the Burton-upon-Trent DC and 20 robots in Europe DC for order picking and returns handling.

After deploying the Hikrobot GTP solution, returns processing speed tripled from 100 units per hour to 300-350 units and 99% of returns can be processed and re-dispatched within 24 hours. Picking efficiency doubled from 90 units per hour to 180 units. With the combination of PTL and indicator light, the order fulfillment accuracy is 99.9%.
