Holding more inventory in the warehouse can help make supply chains more resilient, but space is often limited. Now is the time to start getting creative in light of rising demand and fewer expansion opportunities.

L.A.C Logistics Automation offer a smart blend of technologies that are helping resolve the “storage capacity” challenge.

L.A.C’s latest announcement is a strategic partnership with HUBMASTER, a Spanish provider of warehouse automation solutions. The partnership will see L.A.C introduce HUBMASTER’s automatic multi-aisle stacker crane technology to the UK market.

HUBMASTER specialises in providing a space optimising stacker crane storage automation solution which can be suspended from above the building or existing racks, hence reducing its footprint. This ASRS (Automatic Storage and Retrieval System) system increases storage density and accelerates storage, put away and retrieval operations.

Customers in a diverse range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, food and beverage, manufacturing, distribution, cold chain, chemical industry across Europe, Asia and the Americas have reaped multifold growth in operational performance using HUBMASTERS ASRS system.

The HUBMASTER multi-aisle stacker crane can move laterally along a rail and access multiple storage aisles on either side. This design enables the system to operate in much narrower aisles than traditional automation solutions such as AGV (Autonomous Guided Vehicles) forklifts.

The system can handle a wide variety of load types and sizes, including pallets, boxes, and even irregular-shaped items. The system can also be customised to meet specific requirements for height, speed, and throughput.

The automatic multi-aisle stacker crane system, provides an attractive alternative to other storage automation solutions, and is especially relevant due to the following benefits:

•Ceiling heights – ideally suited for multi-aisle operations in buildings with 15m high ceilings, and as a single aisle stacker crane system in higher ceiling applications of 25m.

•Floors – The system works on rails supported by the racks or directly supported from the building. Since the system is not supported on the ground, the floor condition has no strict requirements in terms of flatness or local imperfections and will not suffer wear and tear during its use.

•Density and Safety – Thanks to the use of very narrow aisles or multiple deep racking configurations, it is ideally suited for warehouses which would benefit from improvements in processes and storage density while at the same time improving operational safety

“Partnering with HUBMASTER is an exciting development for us at L.A.C,” said Joe Metcalfe, Sales Director of L.A.C Logistics Automation. “We are constantly looking for new ways to innovate and improve our offering, and HUBMASTER’s warehouse automation solutions are a perfect addition to our product portfolio.

L.A.C is excited to bring this ground-breaking solution to its customers in the UK and uplift storage & retrieval operations to help companies store more inventories, fulfil orders faster and grow market reach with fast & space efficient storage automation.
