The Rite-Hite group of companies has reached a significant milestone in Europe – three decades of helping industrial firms to improve the safety, security and efficiency of their operations, especially in the area of intralogistics, through high quality products and services. A group of eighteen intrepid cyclists from Hörmann UK have recently taken part in the GLP ‘G Tour’ annual charity bike ride. Featuring three distances of 25, 50 and 75 miles the event was organised by GLP in support of Dementia UK, Mind and Parkinson’s UK, with the Hörmann team raising a total of £3000.

Sealed Air has developed a range of new BUBBLE WRAP® brand protective packaging solutions that use recycled content to help companies achieve their sustainability goals. Three new inflatable films have been launched, which utilise 30% or 50% recycled plastic waste, to support companies in meeting growing demand for more environmentally-responsible packaging. BUBBLE WRAP® brand AirCap® LRT and BUBBLE WRAP® IB Recycled Content Films, are both made using a minimum of 30% recycled plastic, according to our packaging feature.

Having witnessed the benefits of the Zumtobel TECTON continuous row lighting system at its European sites, Bleckmann, an expert in supply chain management solutions for fashion & lifestyle brands, turned to the lighting brand for a turnkey lighting solution for its BREEAM rated UK-based operations, our lighting feature reveals. Having worked with and installed Zumtobel’s luminaires at several of its European sites and offices across the Netherlands and its Belgium based Head Office, the supply chain management solutions expert has witnessed the benefits of a good lighting system for over five years.

DB Schenker recently installed a conveyor system from Conveyor Systems Limited (CSL) with two 6.5m high reversible spiral conveyors, each of which carries 15 pick totes per minute. The automated order picking and replenishment system has increased productivity by 5% for a team of eight pickers, says our automation feature. Overall, a total of 832 working hours have been saved so far as a result.
