Loading Bays

Loading bays and associated equipment are key to efficient and safe handling of goods and are vital to the logistics and goods transportation industries. Loading bays are one of the most used features in a warehouse environment from vehicles and personnel constantly moving in and out. Loading Bays basically drives the revenue for your entire warehouse, so it is very important that it is always efficient, properly maintained and most importantly safe. There are many key benefits to having a loading bay such as giving you the ability to load and unload goods quickly and safely, protection against elements such as rain damaging goods, protection against pests and lastly better security.

Dock Levellers

Dock Levellers are designed to bridge the gap between the docked vehicle and loading bay giving you a smoother, quicker, and safer way of unloading and loading goods. Dock levellers are tailored to suit your needs and facilities. The two main types of dock leveller used are Telescopic lip and Hinge lip dock levellers. Telescopic provides you with a larger contact area between the vehicle and dock leveller. This means it can be positioned more precisely. Hinge lip dock levellers have a more restricted contact area when loading and unloading. Both dock levellers are very beneficial and carry a lot of perks such as, safety when transferring goods as they absorb impact to reduce damage to goods, are easy to operate and durable giving them a long-life span and low maintenance.

Dock shelter

Protecting your goods is important, a dock shelter gives you all round weather protection against elements, so this will remove any problems that could be caused from water or wind damage. This will allow you to carry on as normal without being restricted by the weather. Also, it will provide your staff with a safer working environment.

Dock buffers and bumpers

Buffers and bumpers are a key part of a loading bay, they are designed for protection in mind. They are there to prevent and reduce impact damage between vehicles and buildings when docked for loading and unloading. They are heavy duty, hard wearing, easy to install and minimal maintenance.

Wheel Guides

Wheel guides are there to ensure that the vehicle approaches the loading bay centrally and straight allowing the dock leveller to correctly dock with the trailer and the dock shelter to seal properly against the back of the vehicle. Without having wheel guides this could lead to damage and many safety issues.
