On 13 November 2019, TVH – a global player in the field of lift trucks and industrial vehicles and parts for those machines – organised a festive closing event for the Become Technical Purchaser (BCTP) and Become Technical Advisor (BCTA) programmes. Thanks to these tailor-made traineeships, participants can immediately start working at TVH as a technical buyer or researcher.

On 13 November, the final exams for the BCTP and BCTA traineeships took place. That same night, the trainees who passed their exam received their certificates during a ceremonial presentation with a reception. During that presentation, it was also announced in which teams they could start working the day after. Not only the trainees were placed in the spotlight, but also the trainers: specialised TVH employees who dedicated themselves to the project.

Custom-made courses

The BCTP and BCTA traineeships are two custom-made courses set up by TVH in which technical knowledge is taught that is strongly needed in the company. For two months, the participants attended theoretical and practical lessons, 8 hours per day. “In September this year, 10 trainees started, a larger group than usual”, says Hermien Wittouck, Learning & Development Specialist at TVH. “This is the third year that we have organised the traineeship, because it remains difficult to find the right profiles with the necessary knowledge, for example about hydraulics. With this traineeship, the participants take the first step towards specialisation, and they can immediately start working with us in an interesting job.” All 10 trainees have passed the 2019 course and started working with TVH.
