In October, Pregis Europe opened its brand new Paper Specialist Centre (PSC) in Stevenage, UK, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony.
The new unit, not far from the Equipment Specialist Centre is part of ambitious growth plans for the company as it looks to invest in the manufacturing of their 100% recycled paper packaging material in order to keep up with growing demand from the market.
Presided over by Pregis CEO, Kevin Baudhuin, employees joined to celebrate this new step in Pregis’ history with an official ribbon cutting and Champagne reception.
Offering over 50% more space than their previous unit, Pregis has invested heavily into the enhancement of a more efficient and stream-lined plant consisting of innovative, cutting edge equipment allowing for higher production levels and continuous product development, cementing Pregis’ place as a true market leader within Europe.
Not only have the production areas been fully optimized, but strong emphasis has been placed on employee wellbeing and creating a modern and inspirational space with improved facilities and a dedicated break out-area for colleagues to collaborate while increasing productivity.
The entire facility has been developed with sustainability at its core. Not only is all lighting fully LED, electric car ports have also been installed and heat retention technology has been utilized to optimize energy recycling – all this alongside the environmentally conscious behavior Pregis have always been proud of and targeted against for their ISO 14001.
Incorporated within the Paper Specialist Centre is a dedicated Customer Experience Centre to showcase Pregis’ expanded portfolio of packaging solutions as well as providing a space to meet with customers, demonstrate the systems and allow them to get hands-on and conduct pack tests. This area will also act as a training facility for all Pregis employees, ensuring that they can always offer the very highest quality service and advice.
The new facility will mirror the IQ center of the American headquarters which has proven to be a highly successful and popular aspect throughout the customer journey.
This defining event marks a new chapter in the development of Pregis in the European marketplace.
