Throughout the year SEMA stages a series of thought leadership events for end users and other industry professionals to help them stay abreast of best practice, learn how to implement safe practice in storage and stay abreast of SEMA’s technical developments. Following on from the success of previous events, SEMA’s full-day Technical Seminar is on 3rd June 2020 at the Birmingham West Hotel, West Bromwich.

Aimed at those for whom in-depth technical knowledge on storage is a prerequisite in their professional role, SEMA’s Technical Seminar will keep delegates up to date on European and UK issues facing all those working in the safe manufacture, design, supply and installation of storage systems.

Speakers include members of SEMA’s Technical Committee and other organisations from around the industry who are chosen for their significant depth of knowledge, skill and experience. Topics will explore upcoming changes to European codes and also an overview of new industry codes currently in development which apply to areas not presently covered. Other very usable content for “the day job” will include presentations on automation, the future of the warehousing industry and a full standards update.

Technical excellence has been the very essence of SEMA’s mission since its inception in 1968. Through technical standardisation, SEMA has led on best safety practice and many of its outputs are adopted nationally, across Europe and the world over.

SEMA’s president, Jaap Vos, he says; “A crucial part of SEMA’s 2020 agenda is to lead the storage industry from a position of outstanding technical excellence. The full day technical event will enable us to share what we know with those who have a duty of care for safe storage.”

The event starts at 9.30am and includes a buffet lunch. The seminar will conclude with an open forum where the panel will answer questions from the floor. For more information or to book, telephone 0121 6016359 or email enquiry@sema.org.uk.
