Union Industries has remembered a much-loved friend and work colleague, Paul Chable, at the Great North Run 2018, after raising £1,770 in his memory.

As a Technical Sales Engineer at Union, Paul was a familiar face for both staff and customers of the high-speed door manufacturer for more than 16 years.
After being diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer in 2017, Paul battled on and worked until the end of February this year, when the side effects from his treatment led to him taking some time off work to recuperate and regain some strength.
Throughout his treatment, Paul’s wife Donna, along with many other family members, friends, and fellow employees, remained positive and offered their support, before he sadly passed away on 31st March 2018.
In his final few weeks, Paul was cared for by the doctors and nurses at St James’ University Hospital in Leeds.
Alan Hirst, Sales Director at Union Industries, said: “I wanted to honour Paul’s memory and his part as a valued member of the Union family, which is why I took on the challenge of the Great North Run.
The efforts of the staff at the hospital were amazing and they deserve a lot of praise, so I hope the fundraising we have done will help the amazing work they do.”
