A logistics Consultant and Director working for a transport and logistics firm in Crick is gearing up to cycle across the Republic of Zambia to help raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for industry charity Transaid, having recently overcome a knee injury.
Dave Howarth, who has a long association with Directors of national logistics firm The NX Group, which is sponsoring him, is one of 43 riders from the industry who are set to ride 480km, from the Zambian capital Lusaka to the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean border.
Dave said, “I’ve made this more of a challenge after I tore the cartilage in my knee. I’ve had to rest up, which means I’ve been way behind with my training, but I’m back on the bike now and should soon be match-fit.”
