ELOprotect anti-collision tops the bill for safety
Awards in the UK forklift industry don’t get any bigger than those conferred by the FLTA, so ELOKON was delighted that its ELOprotect anti-collision product was named the winner in the Safety Category of the Awards for Excellence 2018 at the prestigious ceremony and dinner in Telford on February 24th.
The Safety Category was particularly hard fought this year, with six nominations on the shortlist, and ELOKON beat off competition from major names such as Linde and Cat Lift Trucks to take the overall title. The Award and “Archie” Trophy was accepted by Christine Heydorn and Ingo Oelhausen from ELOKON in Germany and Kevin Bradley from ELOKON in the UK in front of the 450 attendees at this year’s event.
The FLTA Winners are chosen by a team of expert judges from the material handling industry, who commented as follows: “Elokon’s safety system was a hit with the jury as it can be retrofitted to a wide variety of trucks and helps prevent collisions in risky narrow aisle environments.”
ELOprotect is an automatically self-activating safety system for forklifts and other mobile equipment in VNA warehouses and ensures that forklifts operate at a safe distance from pedestrians. Its new anti-collision version not only prevents collisions between trucks and pedestrians, but also prevents collisions between the trucks themselves. This enables more than one vehicle to work in VNAs at the same time without compromising on speed to allow productive handling, whilst ensuring adherence to the strictest safety guidelines. ELOKON has installed almost 6,000 ELOprotect systems worldwide for customers in, amongst others, the automotive, e-commerce and distribution sectors
