The entry deadline for the 2017 Talent in Logistics Awards has been extended to Friday 28th April ensuring that there is more time to nominate the best Warehouse Managers and Warehouse Operatives for this prestigious accolade.

Warehouse Managers have wide ranging responsibility and often oversee a diverse team of people, functions and skills. The ability to organise safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of goods is crucial. However, they seldom receive the recognition they deserve. Likewise, Warehouse Operatives are often the unsung heroes of a logistics operation. They are a crucial cog in the supply chain engine but all too often are overlooked.

Unlike other awards in the logistics sector, the Talent in Logistics Awards reward the people and teams that keep the UK and Ireland moving. Entering the awards is completely free of charge and nominations can be made quickly and easily by completing a simple online form at www.talentinlogistics.co.uk.

The Warehouse Manager of the Year award has been created to recognise a warehouse professional who can demonstrate an outstanding commitment to safety and productivity. The award will be given to someone who excels in the leadership role, nurtures talent in their team and is probably a senior manager or director of the future.

The Warehouse Operative of the Year award is for a member of the warehouse team who has gone over and above the call of duty and is diligent, safe and efficient on every shift.

Entering the Awards will help organisations demonstrate and prove their commitment to quality training and CSR, both to existing staff, potential employees, and industry peers, whilst also improving team morale.

The Talent in Logistics Awards will be judged by representatives from leading industry bodies and associations within the logistics sector, including the Road Haulage Association, National Register of LGV Instructors, CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) and the Fork Lift Truck Association.

Shortlisted finalists will be announced in mid-May and winners will be revealed at the Talent in Logistics Awards ceremony on the evening of 22nd June 2017 at the Telford International Centre. The Awards will be presented by special guest, stand-up comedian, and star of BBC One sitcom ‘Not Going Out’, Tim Vine, over a champagne reception and luxury three course dinner.
