The Princess Royal is no stranger to the road haulage industry and in addition to her patronages, has a Class 2 heavy goods vehicle licence and is an honorary member of the Road Haulage Association (RHA).

The Microlise Transport Conference, taking place on 18 May at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, is now the largest road transport conference in Europe and includes a full day’s programme supported by three separate industry workshop areas and a 3,500 square metre industry exhibition space.

“We are honoured to welcome The Princess Royal to the Microlise Transport Conference and would like to thank Transaid for their support in inviting their Patron, in addition to the Transaid Corporate Members who leant their names to our proposal, namely DAF, MAN, the RHA and FTA,” said Bob Harbey, Executive Director, Microlise.

“By attending the conference we want transport professionals to feel they have gained practical knowledge that will benefit them in their day-to-day jobs.

The conference remains a place where the big issues are not only discussed and debated, but it also acts as a catalyst for change. The 2016 programme, including The Princess Royal’s contribution, is shaping up to be very exciting indeed,” added Harbey.

The programme will once again be chaired by Quentin Willson, one of Britain’s best-known motoring journalists and personalities and will feature speakers from across the industry including transport operators, industry bodies, government and other key stakeholders.
