With an increasing percentage of the UK switching their vehicles over to electric and hybrid models, electric charging stations and points are starting to become of high demand for new developments, service stations, refurbishments, the work place, at home etc.
Throughout London an Electric Vehicle Delivery Plan has been brought into place, ensuring that all new developments have at least 1 electric car charging station for every five parking spaces on offer, it is a high possibility that within the near future other locations throughout the UK will start to follow this rule.
In 2014, 500 electric vehicles were registered in the UK each month, with this rising to 2,400 per month in 2015 and a significant climb predicted for 2016. In the UK there are over 50,000 electric vehicles on the road which share just under 10,000 pubic charging points.
With the continued increase of Electric Vehicles comes the requirement for more, accessible charging systems.
As well as having the convenience of a charging point at the office or local shopping centre, a business owner or investor can easily recover or make a profit on the costs of the installation by charging customers an increased fee to use the parking space with a charging station, or by using certain units for external advertising similar to how some petrol stations use their pumps.
