The Association of Industrial Truck Trainers (AITT) has appointed Dave Sparrow, as its new Managing Director. Formerly General Manager, and with a wealth of engineering and electrical experience, he is ideally suited to head one of the industry’s best-respected accrediting bodies.

Dave-Sparrow-MD[9]Dave began his working life in 1976, leaving school in 1976 to join the British Army’s Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). Advancing to the rank of Major, he was effectively tasked with keeping the army on the move – holding responsible for providing electrical and engineering support to all brigade vehicles in the North West of England.

Subsequent positions with the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Recycoal, and Certex, furthered his expertise in training, logistics, health and safety, maintenance, and operations management.

This rich blend of knowledge and skills made him the ideal candidate to become General Manager of AITT, an organisation widely recognised and valued by its members for its practical, hands-on approach.

He currently sits on the Standards Committee of AITT and is a Committee Member of the Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA).

Following his appointment Dave said: “I’m proud to be appointed Managing Director and look forward to further serving the many people in the materials handling industry who look to the AITT to help define standards and give expert guidance and clarity on a broad range of issues.”
