Choosing the right lighting for your warehouse

The right lighting and controls can massively cut the cost of energy in warehouses but selecting the right fixtures is essential. The cost of maintenance, particularly at height, must be carefully considered and the life of the LED and its reliability throughout that life, is crucial.

To understand the risks and opportunities of upgrading or replacing lighting, engineers, facilities and estates managers, specifiers and buyers will all be gathering on 18-19 November at LuxLive, Europe’s largest annual lighting event, at ExCeL London.

Brand new high bays and low bays from Kosnic

Kosnic will be unveiling its new range of high bay and low bay luminaires at LuxLive. A replacement for inefficient metal halide lamps used in industrial spaces such as warehouses and factories, both the high bay and low bay are available in 100W, 150W and 200W models, delivering significant energy savings.

Holophane’s new LED high mast luminaire

Holophane’s new HMAO high-mast product (pictured) uses glass refractor technology, with LEDs placed behind glass optical pods. For new and retrofit high-mast applications, it provides a complete lighting solution for the simplest or the most complex area lighting challenges. The luminaire is available with lumen packages of 30,000, 44,000 and 58,000lm.

Of particular interest to those managing warehouses will be the extensive programme of talks including a series of project case studies on Thursday 19 November which will include a panel discussion on taking the pain out of maintaining industrial lighting. There will be a high-mast case study and John Bradshaw, engineering and technical services manager at Royal Mail, will be talking you through the rollout of LEDs and controls to sixteen UK mail centres.
