Union Industries, the Leeds-based manufacturer of Industrial Rapid Roll Doors, has welcomed two new members to its sales team following an ongoing period of increased demand from the South of England, spurred on by the success of its Lifetime Warranty scheme.

The latest additions, Lisa Dunderdale and Henry Patterson, will join Union’s experienced sales team after impressing the Employee-Owned company during a series of interviews. Unlike other companies, Union interview candidates using employees from all levels within the company to ensure the right people are found first time and perhaps more importantly, they share Union’s philosophy.

Henry, 25, who lives just north-west of Oxford, has joined as a Technical Sales Engineer, covering the southern part of the UK. His main role will be the selling of Union’s doors by following up on leads generated by the team based at its Leeds headquarters. Henry’s previous experience in selling high quality, high value capital equipment will be advantageous when selling Union’s products on a B2B basis.

Lisa brings with her a wealth of sales experience and will form part of Union’s Sales Intelligence Development Department; she will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships as well as tracking planned projects that may require High Speed Doors.

The surge in orders has been in part attributed to the success of Union’s Lifetime Warranty scheme, which is included as standard on most doors sold and provides an extensive guarantee as well as a visit from Union’s highly trained technicians when required.

Alan Hirst, Sales Director at Union Industries, said: “The effectiveness and durability of our doors means that there are now more in operation than ever before, some of which have completed more than ten million cycles.

“This in turn means more of our engineers’ time is spent conducting check-ups to ensure the doors operate at an optimal level for years after their installation – all included free of charge under our Lifetime Warranty scheme.

“The reputation for quality we have developed over the years has been integral to our recent success and subsequent expansion. Lisa and Henry bring with them a vast array of sales experience but are also great characters that will fit in well with the Union ‘family’”

Henry said: “Union has an enviable reputation for its products and commitment to excellence. The prospect of working for an Employee-Owned company, where the passion and responsibility for its success is shared by all was also very attractive.”

Lisa added: “The interview was really interesting as it enabled me to engage with different people from the business, which reflect Union’s philosophy. I’ve heard a great deal about Union and I’m raring to get underway.”
