The FLTA is encouraging every one of the 1,000,000 people whose work involves fork lift trucks to get involved – in a bid to reduce fork lift truck accidents.
Look through accident reports over the years and it soon becomes clear that the same issues are responsible for nearly every workplace transport accident – and death.
Echoing the theme of this year’s Safety Conference, Safety Week aims to focus attention on the silent killer in the warehouse – the bad practice that is left unchecked.
This September, the FLTA is encouraging every one of the 1,000,000 people whose work involves fork lift trucks to get involved – in a bid to reduce fork lift truck accidents.
In honour of Safety Week, the FLTA have made a huge number of safety resources available to the public for free. Visit www.fork-truck.org.uk today to download posters, videos and powerpoints today.
How hazard-aware are you? Take the test and find out!
Raising awareness of the issues affecting fork lift truck safety is key to reducing the number of British workers seriously injured by fork lift trucks each year.
So during Safety Week, the FLTA, in association with Mentor FLT Training, is offering a free, online hazard perception test.
In the online challenge, participants are given two scenarios and asked to identify the risks seen – by priority.
It is hoped that the timed test, expected to be the biggest study of its kind to date, will provide useful data about how risks are identified and prioritised by three groups of stakeholders:
Operators
Managers and supervisors
Co-workers
The test will go live from mid-September, so ensure you don’t miss it by registering your interest today at the FLTA website – www.fork-truck.org.uk.
