The building was originally fitted with 73 pieces of 440 watt metal halides producing an average of 77 LUX whilst consuming 32.12kw/hr.

The lighting engineers at Aqualuma specified a lighting plan which incorporated 57 Lightsource-R LED Highbay lights at 165 watts consuming 9.41kw/hr.

Not only have Toll achieved an electrical consumption saving of over 70% but the average lighting level in the building has increased by 133% to 180 LUX. Staff within the warehouse are enthusiastic about the class leading lighting conditions which assist with health & safety requirements whilst reducing the environmental impact of the operation.

The management at Toll Group is already specifying Aqualuma Lightsource-R LED Highbay lights to be installed across more of their facilities as part of their drive to reduce the group’s carbon footprint. An important added benefit is the L70 rating of Lightsource-R which is in excess of 10 years based on 24/7 usage. This reduces service and maintenance costs, which is essential when the lights are installed 10 to 12mtrs above the floor.

Lightsource-R is now available through Aqualuma’s European distributor Tides Marine to provide the same electrical savings whilst increasing lighting levels to all types of business in the UK and mainland Europe. These products are IP66 rated allowing them to be fitted in both exterior & interior applications and are suitable for warehouses, distribution centres, workshops, factories, sporting facilities, shopping centres, car parks and many other buildings.
